Have you ever wondered how collectable teapots are made?
A visit to Carters Teapot Pottery, in the beautiful village of Stonham Aspal set deep in the Suffolk countryside, will allow you to see our world renowned teapots being made and painted by hand.
We receive regular visits from UK and overseas collectors and enthusiasts all year round. We are always happy to talk about the products and the business, although it is always worth atelephone call ahead of your visit to check our current opening hours, and so that we might ensure that we will be able to make time to give you the 'royal treatment'.
Visitors to the pottery can see the teapots being made and painted, and learn about each stage of the manufacturing process. Our knowledgable staff are always happy to answer questions about their work. The teapots they are making could be destined for The USA, Russia, India, Australia, Europe, or just about anywhere else. The flags of the nations which we are producing items for at any given time are flown as a courtesy during their manufacture.
You can purchase first and second quality teapots as well as other Carters of Suffolk branded items during your visit, and even paint your own unique souvenir of your visit, which we will glaze and fire in our production kilns for later collection, or to be mailed to your home.
Enjoy painting a pot at the Teapot Pottery. Relax in a friendly atmosphere and create your own design from one of the many different types of bisque pots.
We have a small range of third party teapots of interest to collectors, and are working hard with the local council and enterprise agencies to achieve our ambition of establishing a Teapot Pottery Museum on site. We will update this page as this project develops.
